KOMBUCHA MAKING
Kombucha is a fermented tea drink that is made by combining black or green tea with sugar, a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast), and water. The SCOBY is a living culture that helps to ferment the tea, which gives kombucha its characteristic sour taste and fizzy texture. Discover the art of crafting your own kombucha by blending different spices and herbs . You’ll create a personalised kombucha recipe that you can take home and enjoy at your leisure.
ABOUT THE EXPERT
Purvi and her husband Josh began Soma a few years back, after spending some time experimenting with homemade fermented foods, including kombucha, and Ayurvedic herbs. A dietary overhaul and forest bathing had slowly helped to reverse autoimmune health issues in her then 4 year old son. She wrote about this experience in an award-winning essay, which was selected for the Best American Science and Nature Writing 2018 anthology. A lawyer and biochemist, Purvi has degrees from Duke University and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Rohan is now a healthy and happy 13 year old, and his sister Kiran is 10.










CHOCOLATE TASTING
The Kombucha Making Session will be followed by a mini-chocolate tasting session. Principally, chocolate tasting session have elaborate explainer-educative sessions and are followed by intensive tasting sessions. Since we have a renowned kombucha specialist preceding this session, we would like you to make the most of her time in India. Hence, this chocolate session would be very short in duration and have limited Indian Craft Chocolates that we would talk about the day. This session will be hosted by Cafe Amado. Since chocolate is a comprehensive topic, it would be easier to give you a basic understanding of it before you attend the event. So that you make the most of your morning. Don’t worry!
