“It is an absolute honor to welcome Chef Gary Mehigan to Bhopal for this landmark workshop. At Amado, our mission has always been to build a strong, skill-based community that shares a common love for baking and food making. We even ran a baking academy for more than half a dozen years before opening up this cafe.  Hosting a globally celebrated chef like Chef Gary is not just a proud moment for us, but a significant milestone for the culinary community in Central India.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Conosh for their collaboration in making this event possible, and to the people of Bhopal for their overwhelming response and support. We are thrilled that the event was completely sold out — a testament to the city’s growing love for food, learning, and world-class experiences. We look forward to many such meaningful engagements in the future.”

About Gary Mehigan:

Gary was born and grew up in the UK. Gary marks the two Michelin-starred restaurants that were the most formative in his early career. He moved to Australia in 1991, working at top restaurants before venturing into business at 31. MasterChef was, by all accounts, a game-changer for all involved. Eleven years and 12 series later, Gary, Matt & George became part of our daily viewing. MasterChef Australia series 2 was the highest rating show on Australian television, and the show has inspired a new generation of young cooks to embrace food and cooking. Gary says he feels blessed in his career; it has allowed him to travel, indulge his passions, and meet extraordinary people. By admission, he has felt the pain and pressures of failure but enjoyed great success and couldn’t wish for more. He values honesty, enthusiasm, passion and compassion, and above all else, he loves to teach.

About Café Amado:

Nestled in the serene lanes of Bhopal, Café Amado is a thoughtfully designed space rooted in the philosophy of slow living and simple joys. Founded by Chef Meenal Shejwar, Amado is known for its clean, comfort-forward food, seasonal menus, and earthy, minimal aesthetics. The cafe came in as an evolved version of the Amado Academy that ran for about a dozen years and trained more than 1500 students in baking and culinary arts. The cafe bakes its breads in-house, avoids processed ingredients, and sources a large part of our produce from our own farm. From specialty coffee to croissants to warm sourdough sandwiches, everything we serve is made with intention and love. Amado intends to build a place that doesn’t just serve food—rather create a space for people to pause, connect, and appreciate the little things in life.
